Philip Lamy is a Professor of Sociology and Anthropology and the Drum Set Instructor for Castleton’s Music Program. A Berklee College of Music alumnus, Dr. Lamy studied with Don Carr, Gary Chaffee, Kenwood Dennard and Aldo Mazza. Professor Lamy is currently the drummer for the Vermont based Green Brothers Band, a jazz fusion group that performs live music designed to teach history (www.greenbrothersband.com). An award winning teacher, writer, and filmmaker, Dr. Lamy’s musicological interests are in the anthropology of music, Jamaican music and culture, and the music of the 1960s.
