Sports Administration

The Sports Administration concentration trains and develops students for employment in the sport industry.

The goal is prepare students for administrative positions in professional and amateur athletics, recreation, stadium, arena and convention facilities, college and university athletic departments, health and fitness centers, management companies, sports marketing and other programs that require a sports and business background.

Besides the interdisciplinary coursework, students will be required to serve an administrative internship in their senior year.

Students have served internships at a fitness center, college athletic office, area elementary school, and a college camps and conference office, indicating that this new concentration seems to be a popular addition already. Graduates of this program will be able to gain employment in this field at entry positions or as assistants.
